YOGA is taught for classes III – VIII as a part of the curriculum.


Our students are divided into four houses – Ganga, Cauvery, Narmada and Mahanadhi. Competitions such as Debate, Creative Writing, Quiz, Recitation, Rangoli, Face Painting, Jewellery Designing, Junk Art etc. are organized for them every year and prizes awarded to the winners. Various Literary and Cultural events are held for Classes VI – XII.


The students are encouraged to participate in all Inter-school events ( Literary / Cultural / Sports ) hosted by other schools / private organizations / Government agencies etc.

Inter School Events organized by the school


It is an annual Inter School Literary and Cultural Fest organized by our school for other city schools. This event attracts around 35 – 40 schools.

Started in November 1995, Pradharshini was initially a project day with a new topic every year.

From the year 2000 , Pradharshini became an Inter School activity . It is a mega event and provides a platform for students from other schools to exhibit their talents. The winning school gets a Rolling Trophy. Prizes and certificates are awarded to all the prize winners.


It is a programme involving mock parliamentary sessions with students acting as delegates of different countries. They get an opportunity to research, gather information and debate on issues of International concern. Our students started participating in this programme since 2006. We are organizing the MUN at our school level `SANVIMUN’ since 2011. The event is being organized at an Interschool level since 2014.


This is an Inter School Tournament hosted for Boys ( VOLLEY BALL) and Girls (THROW BALL). It is a 4 day event.

The Winning and Runner up teams receive a Rolling Trophy. Medals and certificates are awarded to the Winners.

    After School Activities

    Classes  Karate are offered twice a week for students of Std III – VIII on an optional basis. Resource persons have been facilitated from outside and an annual fee is charged for the same.

    Cambridge Young Learners English Test


    The Cambridge Young Learners English Tests are conducted by the University of Cambridge in all countries. YLET aims to improve the Reading, Writing and Spoken Skills of students in English. The tests are conducted in different categories such as Movers, Flyers, Key English Test etc. The teachers are sent for training programmes to impart training to students. The school enrolled for this programme in 2004. The first batch of 27 students appeared for the tests in the `Flyers category’ in January 2005. Since then students have been appearing for these tests at various levels. The certificates awarded after successful completion of the tests have universal recognition.

    The classes are conducted after school hours. The students only pay the examination fee. Training is offered free of cost by trained teachers from the school.

    Buzzing Bee Club

    Students of the Kindergarten level are the members of this club. Several activities such as Fancy dress, , Recitation , Paper folding , Show and tell etc are organized for the students.

    Bala Kala Vikas

    All the students of the Primary Section are members of Bala Kala Vikas. This club is an initiative to teach Slokas, Craft work etc. to the students. Classes are conducted on Saturdays.

    Literaria Literary Club

    The club strives to inculcate an interest in different languages (English, Tamil) by providing stimuli other than those available in the classroom. It helps the students to explore the richness of the language, develop reading habit, to improve and perfect communication skills.

    Ramanujam Math Club

    The club intends making the learning of Mathematics interesting and easy. Latest developments in the field of Mathematics are discussed during Guest Lectures. Projects based on difficult Mathematical Concepts are planned and exhibited by the members. This helps to develop an analytical thinking and stimulates  interest in applying Mathematical concepts to real life.

    Parampara Heritage Club

    The Club started its activities in 2003 – 2004. It functions under INTACH – INDIAN NATIONAL TRUST FOR ART AND CULTURAL HERITAGE . It inculcates in its members an interest to know more about Natural , Living and built heritage . The members are taken on field trips to various heritage sites in and around the city. They participate in Madras Day Celebrations every year. Lot of activities are held throughout the year involving Heritage based themes.

    Prakruthi Nature Club

    The members of the Club are taken for Nature trail . They also attend Programmes organized by WWF- The parent body of Nature Club.

    Galileo Science Club

    The main aim of the club is to create,sustain and develop a scientific spirit in the minds of its young members through project work, experiments, slide shows, field trips etc., The club involves students in various activities.

    Karuna Club

    The Club was initiated in 2014 under the guidance of Karuna International. The activities organized by the club aim to inculcate humane values and develop love and concern for all living beings. Students at the Primary and High school level find plenty of opportunities to participate in activities of the Club at the Intra and Inter school level.

    E-Com Club

    The Club is exclusive to students of Std.XI and XII of the Commerce Stream. The club organizes several activities like Career Counselling, Guest Lectures and Seminars. Competitions are organized to expose the students and train them to understand, appreciate and critically review the economic and business developments in the country and worldwide.

    Interact Club

    This Club is Sponsored by The Rotary Club of Madras , District 3230 . The main aim of the club is to train the members in Social Service activities like Blood Donation camp, volunteering help during functions and participating in social awareness programmes like Polio-Immunisation Campaign, visiting orphanages, old age homes,hospitals etc and thus contribute to a better community and a better world.

Social Activities


Career counseling programmes are organized for students of Std X & XII to create an awareness and gain information about various career options available for them.


The programme aims to develop values promoting citizenship and stake holdership among the student community by sowing the seeds at a young age. The modules are based on topics like personal safety , road safety , social responsibilities, conservation of the environment etc. These activities cater to classes III – IX.


It was started in our school in the year 2000. The members learn the basic principles of Health, Service and Friendship. By participating in rallies and competitions on Human Rights and Religious harmony, they understand the importance of tolerance. Training in First Aid to handle emergencies is a must for these young cadets.


Students of Std.IX and XI are eligible to get training to become RSP Cadets. Classes are conducted on a regular basis by co-ordinators from Traffic Department. It creates an awareness about Road Traffic Rules. The Cadets also get field training near important Traffic Signals. The main aim of the RSP Programme is to instill discipline in the young Cadets.


This exemplary Youth Movement celebrates its tenth year in our school. Students are given training during classes held on a weekly basis. The cadets attend training camps and National Integration camps. Apart from being trained in Rifle firing and Trekking, the Cadets render a lot of social service and thereby imbibe the qualities of Self Discipline and National Spirit.


Children from the Middle School are eligible to join Scouts and Guides, while the children of the Primary Section belong to Cubs and Bulbuls. Classes are conducted for the members regularly whereby training in Leadership and Discipline is given. The members are exposed to the outside world through several activities.
