Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School, Adyar celebrated its 40th Annual Day on 9th February 2010 at the Music Academy, Chennai.
The welcome address was delivered by Sri. V.S. Dhandapani, Managing Trustee, Indian Education Trust.
Dr. Iravatham Mahadevan, I.A.S. (Retd), was the chief guest. Smt. Subala Ananthanarayanan, Principal, made a PowerPoint presentation of the Annual Report of the school.
The chief guest Dr. Iravatham Mahadevan addressed the gathering highlighting the values of secularism, unity and patriotism and gave mementos to members of the staff for their long and dedicated service. He also distributed prizes to students for academic excellence in Std. X and XII Board exams.
The students presented a colourful cultural extravaganza which included the Dance drama “Kutrala Kuruvanji” and an orchestra with devotional and patriotic songs.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Smt. S. Meenakshi, Vice Principal.
